The Laird Center for Medical Research is a 162,000 square foot complex located on the Marshfield Clinic campus in Marshfield, WI. The Laird Center for Medical Research is named after Melvin R. Laird, a Marshfield native, nine-term U.S. Representative, former U.S. Secretary of Defense, and contributor to the improvement of health care worldwide.

Housed within the Laird Center for Medical Research:

• Biomedical Informatics Research Center, including the Interactive Clinical Design Institute
• Center for Human Genetics
• Marshfield Epidemiology Research Center
• National Farm Medicine Center
• Translational Research Laboratories
• Molecular Diagnostics
• Infectious Disease Research Laboratory
• Division of Laboratory Medicine Joint Venture Laboratory
• Division of Laboratory Medicine Medical Education Program

The Laird Center for Medical Research also houses the George E. Magnin Medical Library, the Robert Froehlke Conference Center, the Erdman Lobby, a Replica of Melvin R. Laird's office and personal collections.
