Airlie Foundation Statesman in Medicine

The Statesmen in Medicine award is presented annually for contributions to medicine and public health.

The Airlie Foundation's press release states: "Secretary Laird will be honored for his outstanding contributions to the advancement of medical practice, research and education during the past two decades, both as a member of Congress and as Secretary of Defense. The inspiration and leadership which he has afforded over the years to the progress of American science and medicine, in particular, has been unparalleled in improving the state of health and well-being for present and future generations."
